This policy explains what happens to your files and data when you use compare2pdf.com.

Summary

compare2pdf compares PDF files inside your web browser. The files you open are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. We do not offer accounts and we do not ask for your name or email address to use the tool.

Files you open

When you open a PDF, your browser reads it and runs the comparison locally with JavaScript. The file is not transmitted to us, not stored by us and not accessible to us. When you close or reload the page, the files are discarded from memory. Files you save or export are written directly to your device.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical logs when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. They never contain your files.

Cookies and local storage

We store your theme preference (light, dark or system) in your browser's local storage so the site looks the way you chose on your next visit. It is not used to identify or track you.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.

The site loads open-source PDF libraries from cdnjs (operated by Cloudflare) and fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads these files, the providers receive your IP address as part of the normal connection. They do not receive your PDFs.

Children

compare2pdf is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect your files or account data, we usually hold no personal data about you beyond short-lived server logs. For data processed by Google for advertising, please use Google's tools linked above. For any other request, contact us at the address below.

We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
